Our Mission

To impact Thailand with the message of Jesus' Love through church planting meeting social needs, building up local Christians in failth, and empowering and creating opportunity for them to serve God, and in turn sending them out as missionaries to their own people and beyond.

Who We Are

The Surin Foundation is a non-profit Christian organisation dedicated to sharing God’s word and God’s love to Thailand. It was started by a group of passionate young adults in 2005 after 4 years of mission work, mainly focused on villages in Surin (North Eastern Thailand) . The ministry has involved English camps, children’s programs, and meeting other social needs such as clothing distribution and child sponsorship. With the growth of the ministry, it was obvious that we needed a larger support base to fund the work, and which is not restricted to any particular denomination or church, but welcomes the support of all who share the same passion in bringing God’s Word and love to Thailand.

What We Do

The Surin Foundation works with schools, orphanages, communities and churches, to share God’s word and love through empowering people and creating opportunity. Over the years we have done this through children’s programs, drama, clothing distribution, practical care, music, English camps, sports, games, building projects, child sponsorship, and just spending time with people. Through out the year we run up to 4 short-term trips to our contact villages. We partner with local Thai Christians who maintain the ongoing support and follow up of our work. Our vision is to see a thriving Church in Surin that impacts the community.

Our Core Values

Word of God – We place utmost importance in the teaching of the Word of God as a vital part to impacting the community. We are non-denominational, but adhere to an evangelical theology, which we believe can be culturally adapted to connect with the indigenous heart without compromising the truth.

Indigenous Christians – We place high emphasis on the potential of indigenous Christians to serve, lead, preach, evangelize, plant churches. Our aim is not to hinder or control local Christians, but to entrust, support, equip and empower them to take the front line positions as much as possible.

Evangelism – We believe in a holistic approach to evangelism that includes both proclamation of God’s Word as well as meeting the social needs of the community. Ultimately however, we believe that the only thing that can fill a person’s emptiness is a Christ-centred transformation of the heart.

Work of the Holy Spirit – We believe in the work of the Holy Spirit in electing, touching and opening a person’s heart to the gospel. It is the initiative of God that one is saved, and we are his instruments ready to be used by him to achieve that goal. We take no glory for ourselves. We believe that God has elected those to be saved from every tribe, language, people and nation (cf. Rev 5:9), including the peoples of the various villages in Surin. For that very reason we are compelled to missions to seek out those people.

How You Can Help

The Surin Foundation relies on the financial giving and prayer from its supporters in order to maintain its projects and provide adequate follow up. You can support the ministry of the foundation in the following ways

  • A general donation—to be decided by the Foundation as to its most appropriate use.
  • Short-term mission trips– use your gifts and skills to help us strengthen relationships, share your testimony, and provide skills training to the locals.
